Features (For Assessment Purposes)
Pong (KIT109) » Devlog
- Title screen with instructions and buttons for either a One Player or Two Player game.
- Ball moves in random direction upon start and increases in velocity with each paddle hit. Physics have been added to ensure the ball will correct its trajectory if it enters into a horizontal or vertical state of movement.
- Score is detected and increased when ball enters into the relevant score zone, with the score for each player being displayed in the background of the game field. Scores do not overlay gameplay.
- Ball resets to the centre of the game field once lost off edge of screen.
- Paddles move smoothly and do not leave the screen.
- First player to reach 10 points is declared the winner. Game stops, and the player is given the option to return to the title screen to start a new game.
- One Player mode includes basic AI for the second player.
- Music plays upon game loading and continues to play seamlessly when scenes change. Music also loops.
- Sound effects have been added for when the ball hits the paddles and the boundary walls.
All arts, sprites and assets have been created by me, using Photoshop.
